Scheduling: Our scheduling policy is designed according to the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry's standards for best patient outcomes. Research shows that patients who need restorative care are best scheduled in the morning. Appointments that require more time are also scheduled in the morning, such as orthodontic procedures, as well as new patients, young patients and patients who need extra time. Afternoon appointments are in peak demand and are reserved for routine care such as cleanings, sealants, and orthodontic checkups for school-age children and teenagers.
Confirmations and Cancellations: Our schedule is designed so that we can provide meticulous care to your child. Prior to each appointment, the Dental Assistant sets up the treatment room with supplies and sterilized equipment customized for each patient. Up to ten days prior to your appointment, you will receive confirmations through e-mail, texting, and phone calls. If you need to reschedule your appointment, please give us 48-hours notice so that we can make that time available to another patient on our waiting list. Our system electronically records and charges for failed appointments. Patients who continue to not show for appointments may be terminated from the practice.

Parents as Partners in Dental Care: We want your child to feel comfortable in our dental home. Dr. Hanna advises parents on what to look for as each patient grows. We welcome one parent to the treatment room to accompany the child. However, during certain procedures, such as conscious sedations, parents must wait in the reception room.
Siblings: If you need to bring other children to the patient's appointment, please supervise them in the reception room. Dr. Hanna's staff will escort the patient to the clinical area. Please note that only one parent and patient are permitted in the treatment area. Other children are not permitted in the clinical rooms for treatment and cleanings. Know that Dr. Hanna and his staff will speak with you after your child is examined. While waiting, introduce your children to Dr. Hanna's tropical fish and salt water aquarium that he cares for as a hobby.
Cameras and Cellphones: Due to patient privacy regulations, taking pictures and movies in the clinical area along with cell phone use is not permitted.
School Forms: We will gladly complete your school forms during your routine appointment. Please know that there is a charge for requests to complete forms outside of routine appointments.
Treatment of Minors: The State of Pennsylvania requires that all patients under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian unless the parent provides prior written consent for someone age 18 or older to accompany the child to the appointment and examination. Parents must complete the Medical Consent Authorization Form and forward it to our office prior to the appointment. In addition, the parent will need to complete and sign the Medical History Form as required by state law. Please note that a parent must attend the child's initial appointment. The person who brings the patient to the appointment is responsible for conveying any diagnosis and treatment plan information to all other adults who need to know.
Appointment Times: Our schedule is designed to provide meticulous care to your child. We strive to keep a timely schedule and ask that you arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment to complete paperwork required by state law such as health history and school forms. Please note that we must have updated insurance information prior to your appointment.
